I've been paddling the 2007 superstar since 2007. And it's been a nice boat but I always felt the deck was too low. It forced my knees down to far.
I was psyched when I saw that the new design had more volume in the front. However, the boat is really short. I wasn't sure how that was going to play out.
The first thing I noticed was that it was very comfortable. After a few demos I was starting to get used to the super short length. That short length was great for fitting it in my rental car in Tennessee.
Even though it's so short, it's very fast on a wave and the soft chines make it very predictable in a hole.
In the end, I decided to keep my older superstar as I end up running rivers in it and I like a little longer boat. Hopefully the next version will have the volume in the front AND some length. |
